ABOUT THAT BISON LOGO AND 53NE (53 NORTH EAST)
53 NORTH EAST
It’s actually 53.1325°N, 23.1688°E but let’s not split hairs. These are the coordinates of Bialystok – a city in Poland I was born and grew up in. No normal person would correctly spell “dziekonskiphotography.com” (wait did I spell that right?) to enter a website. “53ne” is much easier and as you see, kinda relevant.
THE BISON LOGO
Well, one thing leads to another. The area I grew up in is also known as the Green Lungs of Poland. It’s an area lush in forests and wildlife including a rare, once almost extinct, animal: Bison Bonasus, European Bison / Buffalo. 31% of the world’s wild population hangs out in my old neck of woods and the memories of seeing them roam in their wild habitat during hikes with my parents will always remain vivid in my head.
This logo for my commercial and advertising photography brand is a nod to that place I grew up in and to that younger self that was ever in awe of these majestic beasts.
